Truth & Love: 1st, 2nd and 3rd John

Women’s Thursday Morning Bible Study

How do you know you have eternal life? How do you know if you’re really born again? What does it mean to be holy? To love God and others inside and outside the church?

These are eternally important questions, and yet sadly, many Christians struggle to answer them. Thankfully, God does not leave us in the dark when it comes to our standing before Him.

“These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13).

At the same time, these books offer a much-needed warning to those who lack this evidence. It is entirely possible to think that things are okay between you and God even when you don’t have eternal life. Of all the things to be deceived about, nothing could be worse than being deceived about where you will spend eternity. Each of these books also address false teachers who no longer acknowledge that Jesus is the Messiah or Son of God but spread fear and division among believers. John also reminds believers to welcome true missionaries who teach the message of the cross and love others.

“Little children let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth” (1 John 3:18).

This is a workbook-based study with homework that breaks down a few verses at a time, along with 3 questions a day to answer. Our gatherings will consist of a teaching time, followed by small group time and a short whole group wrap-up. Essentially, all you will need is a Bible and your workbook.

We pray you can join us for one or both semesters in worshipping our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ through the study and application of Scripture while deepening your relationships with other women for fellowship and accountability.
