Men of the Word

A Call to Arms

The Apostle Paul used military metaphors in describing faith in Christ. He commanded Timothy
“to fight the good fight, take hold of the eternal life to which you were called…”1 Timothy 6:12.

Probably the most intense spiritual battle for Christian men is the discipline of prayer.
Men, how is your personal prayer life? Are you AWOL..a no show? Are you MIA…missing in
action? Or, are you combat ready for engagement in spiritual warfare?

The good news is that prayer is one of God’s most powerful weapons in our spiritual arsenal. We are at war “with the rulers, powers, the world forces of darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness…” Ephesians 6:12. The church needs men who are well-armed warriors…passionate about being genuine prayer warriors.

So, men, consider being a part of an “army” of prayer warriors who model Holy Spirit filled/dependent prayer with their families and be a catalyst for Christ in promoting a culture of prayer with the FBC family.

The Apostle Paul says it best, “Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong…” 1 Corinthians 16:13.
