Men of the Word

Being genuinely content as Christian men can be challenging in a culture that competes with our commitment to Christ in so many ways.  Christ-like contentment is a precious commodity that the Puritan pastor Jeremiah Burroughs called The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment.

The Apostle Paul, inspired by Holy Spirit, declares: “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am” (Philippians 4:11). Paul also very emphatically says, “Godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment” (1 Timothy 6:6).

Men, are you hungry for genuine Christian contentment?  Imagine the impact you will have on your family, the FBC family, and others as you daily experience and exude the joy and power of Christian contentment.  The author, Andrew Davis, in his book:  The Power of Christian Contentment, says, “Christian contentment is finding delight in God’s wise plan for my life and humbly allowing Him to direct me in it.”
