REFINERY FOR MEN
REFINERY
FOR MEN: Intensive Discipleship
REFINERY for Men: Intensive Discipleship, which is designed to help men examine their current relationship with Jesus Christ, using the Word as the primary textbook. After completing this study next Spring, each participant will be in a position to self-evaluate using Scripture to make himself accountable to what Scripture teaches about his struggle with the various sins that he encounters in his daily walk with Jesus. He will have learned a model to follow and feel more competent to discuss his sin nature with other brothers in Christ and grow a great deal spiritually in family relationships. As he grows, he will feel more comfortable to come alongside newer believers, either family members or other believers and help disciple them to become more like Christ.

The REFINERY course consists of 25 weeks of intense discipleship. It will teach and train you in what God’s Word has to say about life and Godliness. This in-depth study begins with the foundations of the Christian Faith and our Identity in Christ. You will learn how to apply God’s Word to your life while being individually discipled. Topics include How to Change Biblically, Man’s Way vs. God’s Way (psychology vs. God’s Word), The Process of Change, Dealing with Anger and Bitterness, Interpersonal Relations, Marriage and Parent-Child relationships, Depression, Fear and Worry, and Life Dominating Sins. This course is life-changing as God’s Word will penetrate the heart and progressive sanctification will take place as the attendees work through a sin area of their life that needs to be mortified.
This study is offered to first-time attendees only. Time commitment includes weekly meetings and at least five hours of homework per week. You will also have individual discipleship meetings with a course leader. Furthermore, continued regular Community Group attendance is required. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to prayerfully evaluate your time and commitment before considering signing up.
