DAWN DYER

Dawn grew up in a Christian home and was taught the gospel from a very young age. She knew she was a sinner and needed a Savior. At the age of 11, she made a decision to follow Christ, but mostly out of fear of life after death. She had learned through Awana verses through if she confessed, He is faithful and just to forgive her sins. (1 John 1:9)

Through each season in her life, God faithfully brought people to disciple and train her. However, her relationship with Christ seemed mostly based on what she was doing and how she was feeling, not based on His work on her behalf. At FBC, she started a discipleship relationship with an older woman. Through that relationship, she learned about the power of God – the same power that raised Christ from the dead would help her live a life worthy of Him. As she began to dig deeper into what Christ has done for her, she was humbled knowing that she deserved death and she is the worst sinner (1 Timothy 1:15) She began to realize that her old life was dead and she was a new creation (1 Corinthians 5:17) She did not need to dwell on past sins; she was free from chains of sin (Romans 6)

She was blessed to marry her late husband, Andre in 1987 in San Diego, Ca. They have three children, two daughters in law and two grandchildren.

Because of all the women who have poured into her life, Dawn desires to do the same through ministering to young wives and mothers. She has been part of the Moms by Grace Ministry since it was started in 2011. Her hope is to help them come to know Christ or become more like Christ in their roles as wives and mothers.
